
Mindy leads Communication Works, Inc. with over 25 years in the fields of sales and sales coaching, International marketing, strategic planning, consumer branding, media marketing, ad agency experience and teaching at the college level.
Communication Works, Inc. assists companies in Talent Management–job benchmarking, candidate selection, development, retention and succession planning. CW specializes in increasing sales and team performance, individual development, communication skills improvement, lowering turnover and strategic planning processes.
Mindy has been featured on Fox6 for her work in identifying and building upon Communication Skills. Customers include IBM, Better Business Bureau, State Farm, Luce Forward, Coles Carpets, TLC Assistance Canines, PRA Destination Management, Infinity Broadcasting, Jet Set Management Group, Complexions RX and Univision Radio.
Formerly, Mindy was Vice President of Merchandising at Merchandising Avenue, Inc, a start-up contextual merchandising and early-stage technology company. Mindy was involved in creating a dynamic, real-time ad unit based on contextual merchandising, inventing the internal process to implement the unit and identifying target customer segments for its use. Before joining Merchandising Avenue, Mindy served as VP of Marketing for International Licensing, Inc. overseeing worldwide sales and marketing for several youth lifestyle brands, strategic marketing development, e-commerce, media alliances and partnerships. Prior to that, she served as Marketing Services Manager at The San Diego Union-Tribune where her responsibilities included strategic planning, sales, market research and business and consumer marketing. Her career began in Chicago as an advertising agency copywriter for accounts such as Burger King, United Airlines and Coca Cola.
Mindy is accredited as a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst, Certified Professional Values Analyst and Certified TriMetrix Analyst through Target Training International. Mindy graduated on the Dean's List from University of Illinois with a BS degree in Communications. She is involved in the Occidental College Foundation, Serra High Aquatics Booster Club, Serra High Foundation, Kappa Alpha Theta women's fraternity at SDSU and Brides against Breast Cancer. Mindy won the President's Award for Community Service in 2005 and 2006 from TTI.
Mindy lives in San Diego with her husband Brian and three children–Bryce, Hayley and Mattie and their Labradors Dennis and Jeff.
Brian assisted with the launch of Communication Works, Inc. in 2002. His role extends from strategic planning to financials to delivering specific presentations and coaching work with clients.
Brian graduated from Fresno State University with a B.S. in Business, Real Estate and Urban Land Economics. After serving in the United States Navy as a Harbor Patrolman and Military Police Officer, Brian reentered the civilian world as a commission salesperson for the Better Business Bureau. He then moved to the sales team of Hertz Equipment Rental.
As the real estate market continued to boom in San Diego, California, Brian chose to move back toward the work in which he received his degree. He became a Licensed Real Estate Appraiser in 2003 and, after working with the outstanding team of professionals at San Diego Appraisal Company, Brian launched his own appraisal firm in 2005–San Diego Appraisal Works, Inc.
He is now president of San Diego Appraisal Works, Inc. while continuing to contribute to the direction and strategies of Communication Works, Inc.
